There’s a saying in this business that ‘you’re only as good as your last screw-up’.

During development of both hardware and software products, analysis is required to insure that the final video output complies with all standards. It is far easier to verify compliance early when a small change is easier to implement. If there is an issue after product release, all the customer will remember is the problem.

By verifying the video early and often, a software or firmware correction will assure on-time and reliable delivery. During development these changes are easier to implement.

Writing specifications requires a judicious choice of words and terminology. An overly tight specification can result in high manufacturing fallout. An overly loose specification will skew customer views of the product.

We have experience in analysis and setting specifications with several large manufacturers of both editing and test equipment.
